Jeremy Horst Keeper’s primary career goal is to reduce suffering from dental caries by validating and scaling innovations in care for oral health generally and dental caries specifically. He is a strong advocate for information and tools that could tremendously improve oral health for all, which complement the existing system of dentistry by activating non-dentists to assess and manage dental diseases, and by empowering people to care for themselves. His journey has been fueled by life-long learning from the literature, tradition, patients, colleagues, and experimentation in the laboratory and clinic. This has manifested as 25 years in oral health care as a dental assistant, free clinic director, general dentist, pediatric dentist, scientist with over 45 publications, educator having taught over 400 continuing dental education courses, and director in a corporate environment.  His accomplishments include helping to drive the introduction of SDF into the US, creating a medical CPT code for SDF, successful proposal to add GIC to the WHO Lists of Essential Medicines, co-invention of no-excavation SMART fillings, using SDF to finesse needles and drills, leading introduction of Curodont into the US, and creating a new dental CDT code for tooth hydroxyapatite regeneration.
